Alma Mater

Back to the place where ideas, aspirations and dreams start to germinate. My memories from chinese high wasnt about academics cos it wasnt that impressive afterall. Yet,it was from all the stupid, silly and bold things we ve done in the past that remains so etched in the already blurry and fading memories of the secondary school lives.
I remember once I was so passionate(tgt with jinghan and some others) about soccer. Once, the pride and ego and the MAN's intrinsic nature and thirst for conquest roamed the hearts of the barely sixteen years old boys. We played soccer like we never played before, organised the class for soccer matches against the likes of the strong class like 4A (Sports class). The deepest regret was once when we were up against them. In order to win, we actually conspired with them. It was discovered then the class were denounced from the matches. Sad but it depicts the kind of fervour and passion for the sport. When we were younger, a boy's childhood was either basketball or soccer. Dunno why..it seems that they are THE sports. Got a lot of accolade for playing the sport well in the past... Hmm..perhaps that innate urge to win started from there.
I told Yikai that memories of secondary school is the deepest because at that time, it was the age that was too young for any major responsbilities and old enough to make a slight difference in life. It was the age when small sparks start to fly. The small ego grew bigger and the mind started to mature. Being in the track team was my greatest pleasure then. Being an athlete seems the most glorified sport in the school. I was, and still am, very proud that i am a Chinese High athlete. I used to hate the stereotype that my classmates coat "athletes" with. The typical "buay tuck ceh " - never study brand was stuck with the athletes then. In order to prove them wrong, me and jinghan got top and second for the Sec 2 exam just to prove them wrong.haha. how naive back then.
Going forward, I hope to attend the next anniversary- 100th year old. Perhaps by that time, i would need to book 3 or 4 more tickets for beibei and my kids...haha..
