DOES THE END JUSTIFY THE MEANS?

I used to believe that earning money is one of the most important missions when i was younger because i wanted to savour the taste of a wealthy person. As I grew older, my strong urge began to falter as i began to understand a greater truth in my life. Nope, I am not preaching any form of religion here. Perhaps a bit of wenliang-ism blended with a few drops of experience. The truth being, there is a price to pay for everything. I totally believe in that.
While I thought earning money might make me rich, i am merely trading time for money. I might win tonnes of plastic lifeless notes or perhaps a greater congregation of numbers in my bank account. Yet, i lost time-Priceless and non-retrievable. During eocc, i had witnessed, many a time, the weaknesses of humans. As we were stripped down to the last crumps of biscuits in times of hunger, those who gave up their final bit of rations lost some energy, yet gained the rightful respect and learned the real value of compassion and camaraderie. So, life works like a trade. You trade away some of the your intangible commodities like time and dignity and morals in exchange for the tangible ownership of materials. Whether you win or lose is of course, at your own discretion.
I couldnt find a valid explanation, in my heart, on certain actions. Perhaps, just like in psychology, this is a conditioned response. Events generate a response, just like how heat activates your receptors to generate a feeling of pain. Maybe through time and space, people react to an event, and when they managed to escape without being punished, they begin to "condition" themselves and finally, accept the course of action. It is just like how babies actually cry to gain your attention.
In retrospect, I wouldn't say that I had not generated any responses which are morally wrong as well. I am as guilty as anyone. Lets reflect and repent!Cheers
