CNG : In-thing
With oil prices hitting more than us$100 a barrel, its no surprise that people are seeking other alternatives to feed their ever high-maintenance baby-- Car.Actually CNG or Compressed Natural Gas is no newbie to the local automotive market. Some taxis and buses had since turned to CNG for a "cleaner and greener" driving experience. Of cos, its cheaper la! At 80c per litre, the price is like buying royce choc to the likes of GOdiva-- Just as good, but far cheaper.
Of cos,you might question if CNG is so good, why are we using petrol then. First,Petrol was at $1.50per litre months back.Albeit more expensive, there is no strong reason to turn to CNG for the cyclinders are nearly 60kg. There s like an additional passenger and it takes up considerable bootspace. Now priced at $2 per litre,it is 25% more expensive whereas CNG stays constant at 80c...haha. The inital setup of the CNG cyclinders costs $3,800 but like in econs, the "startup cost" will be offset-ed by the cheaper fuel cost. CNG also boosts of high octane numberof 103.
Sounds damn good. Besides Jurong Island, there will be 3 more gas pumps to come by the end of this year. One at Serangoon North,One at mandai currently and one at Jurong i think..hahaa..sounds good huh... Buy a Honda Fit(17km/litre) topped with a CNG cylinder at 80cper litre.... every refill at most costs $40 for a 45l fuel tank or $50for 60km.$40for approximately 600km is worth the money man.ahhaha
