Technical?Operation?Service?Analyst?
done a bit of read up on aerospace related stuff during work.haha.
reading up always bring about this advantage of enlightening the mind and broadening one's horizons. Used to think that aerospace engineering is more geared towards a technical pathway. But, i guess there is really more to explore than it really seems.
In Singapore, there are more MRO jobs as compared to design ones. Thus, a technical engineer in aerospace will essentially centers around repair and overhaul. While the job itself is not boring by nature, it is more routine and "standard" in a sense. The brief 2 weeks in goodrich has exposed me to the dedication and commitment of the engineers in their work.inspired to a certain extent by the people there. While a repair work seems mundane, there are actually many many considerations and methods to do so. Its not as easy as it seems. beginning to appreciate the job than in the past.
While technical service, accounting for most of the output in the aerospace field, realms in Singapore, there are also other opportunites i.e. operations and analyst.
Some of the more interesting ones are CAAS and SIA Cargo. CAAS maintains and operates Changi Airport and thus, some of the "prime" jobs include policy making and acquistion of external bodies. Of cos, all these are reserved for the scholars...haha. SIA cargo is one of the biggest cargo airline globally. Of course, our "Mr Zhang"- Fedex is the largest in the field of logistics and transport. SIA cargo's core competencies lies in logistics and thus, it is a more "operation"-inclined industry.
Some analytical jobs include consultancy work at lufthansa, a German company. Of all, lufthansa-Technik is one of the biggest maintenance companies, based in Germany. Lufthansa also has an airline under its flagship and thus, it is a big company man..yeah.hahaha
