MELBOURNEOPEN

Today, i was watching the grand slam finals between Serena williams and Maria Sharapova.
Serena won. Throughout the match, Serena played like a champion . Her ferocious strokes and eyes like an eagle made her more impressive and daunting than her opponent. She was unseeded( maybe 81 or sthing) yet she did not show any signs of incompetence. I admire her for her relentless effort and her vision of the game. Maria was certainly caught off guard, making some unforced errors throughout the game.

The beauty of the game was perhaps best illiustrated at the post match ceremony. Each of the opponent were given time to say a word or two. Besides, of cos, thanking their fans and parents, they thanked each other for being a great opponent. Hmm..i particularly like Sharapova's words. Albeit defeated, she mentioned that it was her greatest dreams to play in melbourne. in the very oourt and she was happy, and sad as well. But she admitted defeat in a very gracious manner.

That is what i called sports at the highest point.
